Did you know IN-KIND Donations can count as volunteer hours?  Monetary donations are not the same as IN-KIND donations.

Monetary Donations are donations of money, which can be in the form of cash, checks, electronic transfers, or credit card payments. Money is versatile and can be used directly by the recipient organization to fund projects, purchase needed items, pay salaries, or support general operational costs.

  • Examples: Donating $100 via a fundraising website, writing a check for a school program, or contributing directly to a charity/non-profit.

In-Kind Donations are non-monetary contributions of goods, services, or expertise. They meet the specific needs of an organization or community without the need for financial expenditure by the recipient.

  • Examples:
    • Goods: Donating books, computers, or supplies to a school.
    • Services: Offering free photography, accounting, or legal expertise.
    • Time: Volunteering for a school event or helping organize fundraisers.

As we navigate through the school year, we want to express our gratitude for the incredible support we receive from our dedicated parents.  We understand that not everyone has the availability to volunteer time at the school, and that's okay! There are other meaningful ways you can contribute, and we wanted to share an exciting opportunity with you.

Did you know that your in-kind donations can make a significant impact on our school's resources? We've established a donation program where one hour of volunteer time is equivalent to a $10 donation in items that benefit our students and classrooms.

Here are some examples of items that your generous donations can provide:
Cases of Water: Hydration is essential for our students, especially during active learning periods.
Example: Water is $4.66/case of 24, 16oz. so 2 cases of 24 bottles = 1 volunteer hour
Books for the Library: Expand our library's collection with engaging and educational books that inspire a love for reading.
Example: Order from the Librarian’s Amazon wish list. Every $10 spent = 1 volunteer hour
Wipes for Classrooms: Help us maintain a clean and healthy learning environment for our students.
Example: Wipes (baby wipes, hand wipes, Clorox wipes) prices vary (say $20/case on Amazon) 1 full case = 2 volunteer hours

If you find it challenging to volunteer your time, this is a fantastic way to contribute and still make a positive impact on your child's education. To coordinate your donation or if you have any questions, please reach out to our Community Outreach Specialist, Blanca Martinez at [email protected]. Every contribution, big or small, plays a vital role in enhancing the educational experience for all our students.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to NYOS!
