NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

Operations

NYOS Operations Department includes our IT Department, our Facilities and Maintenance as well as our Food Services Department.

The IT Department at NYOS is dedicated to providing reliable and innovative technology solutions to support the educational and administrative needs of our community. We ensure seamless connectivity, maintain secure networks, and offer technical support to enhance the learning experience for students and staff. Our team is committed to staying at the forefront of technological advancements to foster a productive and efficient school environment.

Facilities and Maintenance

Our dedicated Facilities and Maintenance team here at NYOS is committed to providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our students, staff, and visitors. We understand the importance of a well-functioning infrastructure in supporting the educational mission of our school. We ensure that all school facilities are in top condition. We take care of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and more to keep the school running smoothly.

Our staff works tirelessly to maintain a clean and healthy environment. From daily cleaning tasks, special event setups, and lawn maintenance. We take pride in our beautiful campus, creating an inviting atmosphere for learning and recreation.

Food Services

Our Food Services Department is dedicated to providing nutritious, balanced, and delicious meals to all students. Our team works diligently to ensure every meal meets high standards of quality and safety, creating a positive dining experience that supports the overall well-being and academic success of our students.
