NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

What: 4th & 5th Grade School Dance
When: 9/6/2019, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Where: Lamar Gym

NYOS Charter School 4th and 5th graders are invited to a school dance THIS FRIDAY, September 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Lamar Gym!

Organized by our National Honor Society students, this Summer Night Dance benefits the Center for Child Protection. For admission, our 4th and 5th graders just need to bring one of the following donation items to the dance:

-Backpacks
-Expo markers
-Liquid glue or glue sticks
-Construction paper
-Pencil sharpeners with cartridge
-Spiral notebooks
-Composite notebooks
