My name is Jenna Tintera and I am the Assistant Principal at NYOS Charter School for grades PK-5. Ms. Berkenhoff and I travel back and forth between the two campuses daily. I have been here since June 2007.
I have a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I have a Master's Degree in Literacy from Concordia University. I am certified to teach 3 year olds through 6th grade and I have additional certifications as a Reading Specialist PK-12, Early Childhood Education PK-3, and English as a Second Language. I taught Kindergarten and First Grade for 12 years. I worked in Central Office as a Curriculum Specialist and I presented Staff Development for teachers in Reading, Math and English as a Second Language for 5 years before coming to NYOS.
I am married and have 5 grown children and two grandchildren. They live in Los Angeles, Missouri, San Antonio and Austin. My husband, John Tintera, is the Executive Director of the Railroad Commission which regulates all the oil and gas production in Texas. We have a Springer Spaniel dog named Piper at home to keep us company.
